Home alone

Stephen has left for Italy today and I am home alone, I was gonna go to the camera club meeting tonight but I decided to stay at home, the last couple of weeks has been very hectic and I am nowhere near finished with the wedding photos and the kitchen looked like 2nd world war so I thought I'd stay at home tonight on my own and get some things done. And the schedule for tonigths meeting wasnt that thrilling either, indoor shooting of smoke and coloured water, and I dont have a macro lens and really couldnt be bothered packing up tripod and a light source of some sort and try to make it work with any of my non-macro lenses. And I bought a photography magazine that had some tips and tricks on how to make black and white photos in lightroom, the software I am currently using and am even thinking of buying, so I am gonna try that instead.

Maybe I'll post some photos here later on, and maybe I'll post them on my website as well, there is one photo there already... Let me know what you think of it!

Winter view from our outdoor area

Its snowing!

Wow, long time no seen! And in between I have shot a wedding and been to Poland and back. I am working my way through the harvest of photos, lots and lots of them. I hope to soon have around 100 photos from the day, and then all the photos of the guests and from the party on top of that, ready to deliver. And then I will upload some of them, some here and some to my new website that Stephen have started working on, I am a bit excited! But first things first and that is to do a backup of the photos in case the computer crashes or something.

When I arrived back in Älmhult today it was snowing I took some photos of it that I will share soon but the computer is a bit busy transferring photos at the moment. I may or may not have chosen the fastest way to do it but I dont want to stop it now. It is only about an hour left... zzz...

I forgot to tell all about the birthday presents I got, one of them might mean the end of this blog...

...and a restart at www.emmabrandtphotography.com! Stephen bought me a domain name for me to build my own photography website!! It is a bit scary to think of getting serious with photography, at least as a job on the side. Who knows, I guess we will see what happens.

I got a new homephone, one like this. Not cordless by the way. A new version of an old classic.

I also got a very nice necklace with matching earrings from grandma, grandpa, Kerstin with family and Johan and Jill with family. A nice bowl for lollies etc from the girls I grew up with. Mum and dad gave me (us) a subscription for the local newspaper. I also got some money towards the bike I bought some months ago =) And Marie and the Älmhult girls are taking me to a day spa later on this autumn. And Ellen had picked out a really nice toy for me, first I thought Uncle Johan and Jill was hinting to something else but apparently Ellen was the one, I thought she was to young to be interested in more babies in the family =) I hope I remembered everything. Nope, I was about to forget the weekend in Jönköping with Nina and Daniel! And a voucher from Mums brother and his family for some jewellery. And I will go and buy myself something from my Jeff and Pauline and Greg and Krystel and Mama Lea. Maybe I will add it to the jewellery voucher and buy something really nice. And I also got some nice flowers from Lynda. And the cook book from Aunt Kerstin. Thank you again everyone!

Surprise surprise, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

You probably knew all about it already =) Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes!! And the gifts. Ant thanks to the organisers, I had a great night! I am lucky to have such great friends and family on both sides of the planet!

There will be a lot of photos tonight from the party, but as it is my birthday today I am allowed to make it easy for me and not write all that much =)

Btw, if anyone is on a photo and would prefer to not be, please let me know! And thanks to Marie for helping out taking photos!

The birthday girl (poor Stephen, what has he gotten himself into...)

Grandma putting her ears back in place

Dad absolutely hates to see loose teeth, something I "accidentally" told the girls who suddenly had something to show him, hehehe...

He really hates it...

The day after in Ljungby, me and mum and dad had a look at an alternative reception venue which I am gonna ring and book tomorrow, in case there is not room for all of us in Dörarp.

A beautiful autumn view from the alternative venue, there is a river running through the city.

Mum and dad evaluating =)

Just some more autumn colours on an angle this time!

New IKEA showroom

IKEA has opened up an unofficial showroom at Linnegatan 9 in Älmhult, a 2-bedroom apartment on the groundfloor =)

We went to IKEA yesterday and bought a new dining table and a sideboard for the kitchen, and it looks really good now I think. And it is great to have a full size dining table! Not that we have heaps and heaps of dinner parties but anyway. The photo might be on a slight angle but you will have to live with that!

You may or may not think it is a bit boring to just have IKEA furniture but at the moment I dont really care, it is so convenient to just pop over to the shop and get what we need, and to get it cheap. Ask me again in 5 years and I am probably sick of it but at the moment it doesnt really bother me to live in IKEA town, work at IKEA and have our place full of IKEA furniture. Maybe you should all start calling me IKEA =)
